Diamaid MacCulloch's monumental biography of the Protestant Martyr Thomas Cranmer burned at the stake outside Balliol College Oxford on 21 March 1556 during the reign of Mary Tudor (Bloody Mary) along with Hugh Latimer for opposing the Catholic faith. The book is ex libris and shows signs of wear and tear on the dust jacket. There is a small tear to the front of the dust jacket, where selotape has been applied to the plastic cover, and there is small tear to the plastic on the bottom right hand side of the dust jacket, but otherwise the book is in fine condition. The text is clear and legible without any obvious markings.
